Jinx was brought onto the team by Snake Eyes.  Her real name remained a secret to everyone in much the same way that Snake Eyes' was kept from everyone.  She was mysterious but outgoing, unlike Snake Eyes.  She had no problem telling people about her life before G.I. Joe.  She was friendly to everyone but there was always a secret that she kept hidden and no one knew what it was.  And then Tommy Arashikage turned his back on Cobra and joined G.I. Joe. 

Thinking that Storm Shadow was forgiven by all members of the team, Jinx revealed that she was his cousin and they had spent alot of time together as children.  Well her big secret did not go over with many members of the team who still did not trust Storm Shadow and they took it to be a traitorous action to keep such a secret.  General Hawk stepped in to diffuse the situation but her secret cost Jinx many of the friends she had made in G.I. Joe.  She has since rebuilt some of the friendships and even married one of the new recruits, Budo.  She is thought of as one of the core members of the team and has been named head of the new Ninja Force.
